Virtual jam and scone workshop proves recipe for success

Aug 24, 2021

What could be better than enjoying classic jam and scones with a cup of tea? The answer – enjoying classic jam and scones with a cup of tea, in the company of so many good friends.

A virtual jam and scone making session has been hailed a huge success after a record number of survivors took part in the popular workshop.

Those taking part were sent ingredients to make plain and fruit scones, ingredients to make strawberry and Pimms jam, as well as a jam-jar, wax disk and label.

If that wasn’t enough, survivors also received a soft drink and English Breakfast Tea.

While in the comfort of their own kitchens they were guided through the process by our talented baker, who was happy to answer any questions as they went.

Survivor Phyllis Carrothers said: “Thank you to COPS for the wonderful workshop, it was so enjoyable.
“All the ingredients provided were much appreciated, and I managed to make five scones out of the mixture (one disappeared very quickly).
“Thank you so much – COPS think of everything – their attention to details is amazing.”

Survivor Lisa Nash said: “I really enjoyed the activity and loved seeing everyone else on Zoom. I would definitely do another one.”

Survivor Danae Estall addedMy daughter Grace made the scones and jam (which she liked very much) and we all enjoyed eating them. Unfortunately, they didn’t last long.”

Once the demonstration had finished, survivors could stay online to chat and catch up for as long as they liked.
