A poignant campaign launched to show support for police, NHS workers and anyone who has suffered because of Covid-19 has raised more than £1,000 for COPS.
The Always in Our Thoughts campaign, which marked the second anniversary of national lockdown in March, was started by Pukaar News founder Romail Gulzar.
It raises money for two specially chosen causes, COPS, and the Leicestershire Children’s Hospital Appeal.
To launch the campaign representatives met during the first week of March, selling specially produced yellow flower badges people could buy, and wear throughout the month with pride.
They were available from various restaurants around Leicester as well as online.
Romail said: “The campaign was set up to recognise and remember all those people in the UK, and of course around the world, that have been affected by Covid-19.
“It also allows people to show solidarity with those that are working day-in day-out to protect others.”
He added: “This year’s campaign went really well, we raised more than £1,000 for COPS which is a fantastic charity and one we’re more than happy to help so it can continue it’s vital work.”
