Police officers from the Thames Valley have raised more than £2,000 for COPS after taking part in a marathon in memory of a fallen colleague.
David Icke was joined by fellow officers for the recent Milton Keynes Marathon Relay – in memory of PC Daniel Clayton-Drabble who died in a RTC in 2018.
Daniel was a serving police officer with Thames Valley Police, based in Milton Keynes, and was returning from duty on Boxing Day morning when he lost his life.
The group were joined by Daniel’s mother Sue Clayton-Drabble.
David said: “Dan was one of the good guys and a key member of my band of brothers. Someone that I loved, admired, respected, and trusted.
“He was Mr Dependable and helped lift your spirits with the right words and his rosey red cheeks and smile.”
They each ran 10k to raise money for COPS which David described as “tremendous support” to police families.
He added: “We all had to run the same 10k route in a relay format. Paul Mabbutt went first, with me second, Dan’s brother-in-law James third, and then Sue on the last leg.
“I think it was poignant that we were able to join Sue on the finishing straight to support her.
“Dan used to love sharing the challenges that his mum used to take on. I remember him tracking his mum’s times when she took on the Iron Man. He was immensely proud of her and the rest of his family.
“I’m sure he was smiling down and encouraging us all on.”
