Joshua’s fabulous fundraising!

Seven-year-old Joshua Cook has completed a 100-mile cycling challenge and raised over £850 for COPS in the process.

Joshua felt compelled to act when the 2020 Police Unity Tour was postponed, which his parents were set to take part in, and devised his own cycling fundraiser.

Over August, he completed various rides totalling 100 miles – with the last leg of the ride taking place on his seventh birthday.

Joshua said: “I wanted to help COPS because my Daddy and Mummy are police officers and they were going to do the Police Unity Tour but couldn’t due to COVID. I wanted to help those boys and girls who don’t have a mummy or daddy anymore.” 

What was the hardest part of the challenge? “The hills,” he said, “there were a lot of hills!”

Commenting on Joshua’s incredible achievement, COPS’ Tim Buckley said: “What a star Joshua is. He has accomplished an amazing feat and it’s one he should be very proud of. All of us here at COPS are bursting with admiration for him.”
