Dedicated fundraiser Andy completes 10k challenge for COPS

Sep 27, 2021

As part of a series of challenges all raising money for COPS Andy Green has walked 10k around Liverpool.

Andy, who admits he lives for walking and taking part in fundraising events, did the walk around the city’s famous tourist attractions and well-known monuments.

“The walk went really well, I managed to do it in just under two hours,” he said.

“And that is despite the fact I had to keep changing my planned route due to road works.”

The 10k walk, which Andy did in memory of sergeant Matiu Ratana, from the Metropolitan Police, raised £125 for COPS.

But, there is no rest for Andy.

He said: “Just because I’ve done this, I won’t be putting my feet up. The next challenge I have is the COPS 5k, which I plan to do around Nottingham.

“If I’m not doing a challenge or planning one, I get bored!

“I love doing these types of challenges, and the feeling that goes with accomplishing them. The only downside is when you’ve completed it you must find something else to do.”

Andy said he wanted to raise money for COPS as it is “a great charity” that helps the police family.
