COPS is delighted to be receiving support from Always in Our Thoughts campaign, launched to show support for Police, NHS workers and anyone who has suffered because of Covid-19.
The poignant campaign, which will mark the second anniversary of national lockdown on 23 March, was started by Pukaar News founder Romail Gulzar.
It raises money for two specially chosen causes, COPS and the Leicestershire Children’s Hospital Appeal.
Representatives from the campaign will be in the upstairs cafe at John Lewis and Partners in Leicester during the first week of March, selling specially produced yellow flower badges.
They will also be available from various restaurants around Leicester.
Simon Cole, chief constable of Leicestershire Police and COPS trustee, recently attended a charity dinner at the city’s Tandem Indian Restaurant with chair of trustees at COPS Sir Peter Fahey, and Romail Gulzar.
Simon said: “The last two years have been difficult for all of us and the impact has been widespread.
“Always in Our Thoughts helps us remember those tough times and those that have been affected, whether that is through personal loss, ongoing effects on people’s health and wellbeing or the impact it has had on people in front line services.
“As a trustee of COPS I see the marvellous work it does to support the families of those that have lost their lives doing their jobs and I would like to once again thank Always in Our Thoughts for supporting the charity in this way.”
