Our Submission Video

Tim Buckley – CEO of Care of Police Survivors, talks about how fundraising efforts have a vital impact on the charity and how being successful in the vote for Briggs Charity of the Year would be life-changing for our police family.

How being Charity of the Year would impact UKCOPS charity:

The loss of a police officer in the line of duty is a tragedy that reverberates through their family, the community, and the entire law enforcement fraternity. When an officer makes the ultimate sacrifice to protect and serve, their loved ones are left to grapple with profound grief and the daunting challenges that follow. This is where Care of Police Survivors steps in and supports families of fallen police officers and the fundraisers are a vital lifeline for our essential work.
Fundraising is vital in our mission to Support Fallen Officer Families.

Care of Police Survivors plays a crucial role in helping these grieving families navigate the brutal aftermath of such a tragedy. These organisations offer a wide range of services, including financial assistance, emotional support, educational scholarships, and more. The aim is to provide a safety net for families and offer emotional anchors while honouring the memory of the fallen officers.

If we were successful, Briggs would be able to:

  • Support all our annual events, including Annual Survivor weekend
  • Volunteer at our UK-wide COPS shop events
  • Volunteer support at our Winter Ball in February sees our Patron, Penny Lancaster, host a LIVE auction
  • Volunteer at the Birmingham Symphony Hall celebration
  • Help support 18-plus, family, sibling experience events across the UK

COPS uses funds and donations to provide families with:

  • Peer Support
  • Counselling support from RedArc
  • Counselling support from Winston’s Wish
  • Driving lessons
  • 18 + annual experience events
  • COPS Survivor portal login to enable families to connect with other families
  • Signposting to finance support

Good Luck

Congratulations to all 10 charities that have been shortlisted and we look forward to hearing from Briggs Equipment UK Ltd
