Since planting began at the Arboretum over 20 years ago, many people have contributed to its story, from the founders, to each of the 300,000+ visitors each year. To mark the 20th anniversary of the National Memorial Arboretum’s official opening they are sharing the stories of just some of those connected with their 150-acre site. Survivor, Tracy Walker, first visited the Arboretum in 2004 following the death of her husband PC Ged Walker, who died in 2003 as a result of injuries sustained during an incident whilst on duty. During this interview, Tracy talks about how she was introduced to the Arboretum through Care of Police Survivors (COPS), how there is always something new to see or to learn, and how it is important to have a place like the Arboretum where people, who have had similar experiences, can come together united as they remember.
