Each year, usually in July, Care of Police Survivors holds an annual survivor weekend. The weekend incorporates social activities and concludes with a Service of Remembrance.
No child likes to be different and at a COPS event, survivor children can meet others whose police officer parent has died on duty.
Each year, 30 – 40 parents and step-parents come together from across the country to spend a relaxing weekend in the company of other survivor parents.
The siblings’ weekend is a time for us to meet up and enable us to talk about our brother or sister without feeling guilty.
Held annually, the spouses/partners weekend aims to bring survivors together for a relaxed weekend away from the day to day routine of being widowed.
National Police Memorial Day is held once a year in the UK to remember all police officers who have lost their lives on duty.
The Scottish Police Memorial Service is held at the Memorial within the grounds of the Scottish Police College, Tulliallan Castle, Fife, on the first Wednesday in September.
